Carrie Carlson
Naturalist Hiking Guide
(Hiking Tours)
Carrie has lived and played in California for most of her life, camping and hiking many miles throughout the Sierra Nevada Mountains. A proud and dedicated mother of two, she and her husband have loved introducing the outdoors to their family. Carrie is an avid runner and is currently training for the California International Marathon.
As a Recreation Specialist for Sacramento’s Parks and Recreation Department, Carrie developed several recreation programs for the youth, families, and seniors. While attending college, Carrie expanded her love for the outdoors and recreation by becoming a Lead Camp Counselor. During this time she created programs that combined team building exercises, problem solving skills and fun! She used these activities to work with groups to assist in improving team dynamics.
After graduating from California State University, Sacramento, Carrie taught a variety of subjects to students ranging in ages from five to eighteen. Her degree in Physical Education has allowed her to instill a life long desire for fitness in her students. Having lived in Sonora for the past year, Carrie loves exploring and learning Yosemite National Park.
