Christine White Loberg is a native Californian currently living in the Yosemite National Park area near Wawona. She attended Cal State Fullerton and the Brooks Institute of Photography in Santa Barbara.

Having fallen in love with Yosemite, Christine decided to remain in the region to enhance her portfolio and teach others what she loves to do: Photography. She conducts photographic seminars, photo walks, and slide presentations for Yosemite National Park as a photographer and an interpretive park ranger. She also conducts photo walks for the Sierra Club.

Known for her relaxed teaching style, she believes photography is a lifetime learning experience. Her work has been recognized in local and national competition, and includes calendars, magazines, posters, postcards, books and brochures. She also exhibits her work at various galleries.

Beginner/Intermediate Photo Classes

2008 Dates: May 31 & June 1, June 21 & 22, July 19 & 20, Aug. 16 & 17, Sep. 13 & 14, Oct. 11 & 12, Nov. 15 & 16

Learn how to compose a nature photograph, and join us for an introductory photography course with a professional photographer. Photographers of all ages and experience levels are welcome.

1. Learn the functions of the camera and how the work together (Aperture, shutter, film speed/ISO)

2. How to control light for the effect YOU want (Landscapes & mysterious moods, wildlife, abstracts, macro)

3. How to read a histogram (What is it? What to look for, how to use it, how to apply it)

4. The zone system and it relates to digital photography (10 zones, latitude of light, 18% gray, Kelvin light)

5. Composition (choose a subject, placement of subjects, rule of thirds, latitude of light & how it works, emotional impact)

You can sign up for one or two day sessions.

Winter can bring some of the most challenging light opportunities to photographers including clouds with rapidly changing light, dramatic cliffs with snow peaking from clouds, and frozen waterfalls & rivers. If you like the soft sounds of Yosemite Falls and the dramatic light of snow covered cliffs with mood & mystery, then this seminar is for you. Join Christine on a 4 mile walk through Yosemite Valley where you will discuss composition, metering for snow, and use of available light in a natural environment. This color photography seminar is geared for novice through intermediate photographers who want to expand their imagination with composition while capturing beautiful images.
