Jacob is a California native who has spent his entire life camping, backpacking, and enjoying the outdoors. A true outdoorsman, he was introduced to hiking at a young age by his father who took him on countless camping trips in the Sierra.

Jacob's studies included a major of GPS/GIS at Columbia College and a strong background in Geological Sciences. His strong familiarity with the terrain of Yosemite is matched by his intuitive ability to follow any trail deep in the wilderness.

Jacob joined Y Explore after years of guiding Gold Prospecting Expeditions in the Mother Lode.
