Jorge Garzon was born and raised in the mountains of Cali, Colombia where he had a spark and love for the outdoors since a very young age. He has pursued that passion by exploring different parts of the world on personal and professional climbing trips for more than a decade.

Jorge’s professional career as a guide begin on 2008 Extremo Vertical while guiding several multi day trips in Farallones National Park in Colombia. In 2014 Jorge received his Wilderness first responder (WFR) and soon after his Single Pitch Instructor (SPI) certification through the American Mountain Guide Association (AMGA). With these accomplishments in tow, he moved on to explore the wild mountains of America. First, in Smith rock where he continued his profession as a guide for four years, and then a season working for the Yosemite climbing department as a Climbing Steward. Garzon became part of YExplore team at the end of the season of 2018.

In 2019, Jorge Garzon was officially announced as the trip leader for the 9 day Peru Inca Trail to Machu Picchu and Sacred Valley 2020 trip offered by YExplore over a Can O Peaches.
