Every guided Half Dome tour is led by a YExplore expert who has ascended the cables multiple times. John DeGrazio, our lead guide, has over 200 summits to his credit. John or one of our experienced team members will lead you through this arudous challenge offering an opportunity for success. Our leaders prepare you for the day on the trail every step of the way.
Once you book this hike, we will screen your questionnaire and help you prepare for your journey on Yosemite’s most popular hiking trail. You will receive a list of what to bring on the hike and receive coaching on how to train. On summit day, our team will meet you at the trailhead with a handshake, a smile, and a boost of confidence as we assemble and prepare our team for the 12+ hour journey. We will profile each section as we approach it and confidently guide you up the 5,000 foot ascent. The team will work together navigating the 9 mile trail (each way) all the way up two majestic waterfalls, the formidable Sub Dome, and the final 600 feet of steel cables where dreams are achieved and new friendships are made.
